After a great few days in Budapest, we made a quick stop over in Bratislava en-route to Prague.
Bratislava is the capital of Slovakia and one of the 4 capital cities which the Danube river runs through. Our online research stated that Bratislava was a quaint town which has a big cafe and bar culture. That description is spot on.
We stayed in the Old Town in an amazing apartment courtesy of Airbnb. We went for a wander through the old town, where restaurants and cafes make up 90% of the shops. We had some amazing food at Soupe Bistro, a tiny cafe which specialises in traditional soups at an insanely cheap price, and walked up to the castle for a quick look and enjoyed the lovely gardens surrounding the castle.
I went for a run by the river that evening, which was quite nice, while Tom relaxed in our luxury apartment. We finished the night off with a great meal from Veggie, a (would you believe) vegetarian restaurant in town.
