The Swiss Alps

Updated: Feb 3, 2019

Crisp, fresh air. Blue skies. Green, green grass. Mountains everywhere you look. Welcome to the Swiss Alps.

We arrived here on Monday and have spent the last 2 days in awe of our beautiful surroundings. We are staying in the small town of Les Crosets in a lovely chalet called Les Rhodos. It has the proper feel of a ski chalet and boast spectacular views across the mountains.

The town  of Les Croset has one village shop and a tourist centre which are only open for 3 hours a day, a couple of restaurants and two operating ski lifts that are on hand to help us explore the region. We have purchased a special pass which allows us to use all the ski lifts in operation and gives us free access to a variety of other activities such as swimming pools, ice skating rinks and mini golf for a bargain deal of €2 a day!

Yesterday we spent the day exploring on the ski lifts. Despite the sunshine, we still had to rug up warm which is a nice change to the climates we have been experiencing for the past 2 months i.e. stinky hot so we are both sweaty messes.

But the most exciting thing is yet to come. Today we have two lovely friends, Rich and Jen, coming to join us for 3 days of relaxing, exploring and banter. Bring it on!
